Bush Dances

Remedy Music brings old-fashioned fun, live music and community connection to schools, community groups, festivals, weddings and other events through our lively Australian bush dances.

Bush dancing is a simple and inclusive way to get people of all ages involved. No previous dancing experience is needed. A caller guides everyone through the steps, so guests can simply join in, have a laugh and enjoy dancing together.

Our bush dances combine live original folk music, traditional dances and plenty of audience participation, creating an atmosphere that is relaxed, welcoming and full of energy. We can tailor the length and format of the dance to suit your event, whether you're planning a school celebration, community gathering, wedding reception or festival.

The idea behind Remedy's bush dances grew from our founder Melody's experience volunteering in Nepal in 2018. She was struck by the way music and dancing were woven into everyday community life, bringing people of different ages and backgrounds together. It inspired her to explore how we could create more opportunities for that same sense of connection here in Australia.

With members of Remedy having grown up in the country, we have a particular love for the outdoors, community gatherings and good old-fashioned fun. Our bush dances celebrate that spirit through well-known folk songs, traditional dances and original music, creating opportunities for people to put down their phones, get moving and make memories together.

Some dances may be familiar to older generations, while for younger people they can be a completely new experience. Either way, everyone is welcome on the dance floor!

Come for the music. Stay for the dancing. Leave with some joyful memories. 🌿🎻
